Hello Roadrunners! I am so excited to join the Rocky River family as one of your assistant principals. My teaching career began in 2005 where I taught 2nd grade in Tampa, Florida. I moved to North Carolina in 2007 and taught in Kannapolis City Schools for several years before making the switch to Cabarrus County in 2013. In Cabarrus County I have taught at Odell Primary and was the MTSS Coach at Irvin Elementary. I received my bachelor’s degree from Youngstown State University and my master’s degree from Queens University of Charlotte. I grew up in Youngtown, Ohio but have called North Carolina my home for the last 16 years. I currently live in Concord with my husband, 2 children, and 2 dogs. I am excited for this school year and to get to know our students and families. Please reach out if there is ever anything I can help you with!

I am absolutely thrilled to be joining the Rocky River Elementary School family this year as an assistant principal. I’m looking forward to building strong relationships with our students, staff, and families as we work together to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. From 2022-2025, I’ve had the privilege of serving as an assistant principal at Cox Mill High School. Before stepping into school leadership, I taught 8th grade language arts and social studies, served as a Principal Intern, and worked as the Dean of Students at J.N. Fries Magnet Middle School. I began my teaching career in my hometown of Lenoir, NC, where I taught 7th and 8th-grade language arts and social studies in the Caldwell County School District. I’m a proud graduate of Western Carolina University, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. I later received my Master’s degree in Higher Education from Appalachian State University and completed my School Administration add-on license through Gardner-Webb University. Outside of school, I enjoy cooking, traveling, and spending time with my wife, family, and friends. I am truly excited to start this new chapter at Rocky River and can’t wait to see what we’ll accomplish together this year!
